Shannon Rogers of Global Relay Honoured at the Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards Luncheon in Vancouver

Awards recognize female leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors

VANCOUVER – (February 2, 2015) – Global Relay is pleased to announce that President and General Counsel Shannon Rogers was recognized last Thursday for her Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award from the Women’s Executive Network at a celebratory luncheon.

The Top 100 Awards recognize Canada’s strong, fearless female leaders who have become agents of change in reshaping Canadian organizations at the highest levels.

Rogers is among 16 women from British Columbia that were honoured at the 2015 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards Luncheon. Anne Giardini, Chancellor of Simon Fraser University, Director and Author was the keynote speaker for this inspiring event.

“Shannon’s WXN Top 100 Award is a well-deserved recognition of her achievements,” said Global Relay CEO and Founder Warren Roy. “Her commitment to outstanding business strategy and development has been key to our current success and plans for continued growth and innovation in the future.”

The Top 100 Awards celebrate and highlight professional achievements of women across the country in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors at a time when corporate Canada is under growing pressure to promote more female leaders into board and executive office positions.

“Despite ever-changing styles and tastes, great leadership is timeless,” says WXN Founder Pamela Jeffery. “Top 100 Award Winners are a testament to the incredible range of female talent and leadership in Canada and proof that change is happening, with more women earning a place at the highest levels of Canadian organizations.”

For the past eleven years, Rogers has been a key figure in guiding Global Relay to remarkable growth and success. Rogers joined Global Relay as its fourth employee in 2003, bringing her unique combination of legal expertise and business acumen. The cloud-based technology services company now has over 350 employees, and is a trusted global service provider to the world's most prestigious banks and financial firms, delivering services to 20,000 organizations in 90 countries. Rogers has ranked among the top three female entrepreneurs in Canada in the Profit W100 for the past four years (#1 in 2011 and 2014). Global Relay is the recipient of a number of awards for growth, innovation, corporate culture, entrepreneurship, and management practices.
